# TermiFlow > TermiFlow is a terminal-native Mermaid flowchart renderer. Install it once and render Mermaid flowcharts as ASCII or Unicode diagrams directly in a terminal—without Rust, a browser, or a hosted service. - Website: https://termiflow.dnvt.me/ - Source: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow - README: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow#readme - Installation: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow#installation - Reference: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow/blob/main/docs/reference.md - Pipelines: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow/blob/main/docs/pipelines.md - Releases: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow/releases - Homebrew: https://github.com/dnvt/homebrew-termiflow - License: https://github.com/dnvt/termiflow/blob/main/LICENSE - Current public release: v0.2.0 - Primary command: `tw` (the `termiflow` binary is also installed) ## Install ```sh brew install dnvt/termiflow/termiflow ``` Homebrew is the recommended no-Rust path on macOS and supported Linux systems. The v0.2.0 Linux release binaries target glibc 2.39 or newer on x86_64 and glibc 2.18 or newer on aarch64. Older or different Linux userspaces can use the Rust source fallback. GitHub Releases provide prebuilt binaries. Building from source requires Rust and Cargo. ## First render ```sh printf 'graph LR\n A[Parse] --> B[Layout]\n B --> C[Render]\n C --> D[Output]\n' | tw ``` The default print mode reads standard input or a Mermaid file and writes a cropped terminal diagram to standard output. `--style ascii` selects portable ASCII borders; the default `unicode` style uses box-drawing characters. ## Capabilities - Mermaid flowchart input from files or standard input - ASCII and Unicode output, plus additional border and composite styles - Branching flows, edge labels, multiline labels, and nested subgraphs - Lightweight JSON graph input with `--from-json` - `--watch` inline live preview and partial `--tui` alternate-screen preview - `--audit` and `--optimize-render` for difficult diagrams TermiFlow is a local command-line tool. This page does not claim a native ChatGPT, Claude, MCP, or default-agent integration; those require a separately configured client/tool surface.
